Tracy is an active 48 year old and her mum is also fairly at 68 but has some knee issues

7.45 AM – Arrive at Cordis Hotel, 83 Symonds St, Grafton, Auckland 1010.  Greet guests at the entrance of The Cordis, pack their luggage securely in car, offer guests a fresh bottle of water from the in car refrigerator before settling them into the vehicle and heading towards Clevedon.

8.45 AM -Stop 1: Farmers Market at 107 Monument Rd, Clevedon, Auckland 2582. On arrival buy a traditional kiwi coffee or tea for guests and yourself Monty. Allow them to enjoy the market, introduce them to the local amazing produce and buy individual items for their picnic the next day in Taupo such as Golden Kiwi Fruit, Tomatoes, Fresh Basil etc. Making sure the items bought will not spoil overnight. NO Cheese as buying that from Over The Moon later in the day. There is are 2 refrigerators in the vehicle that is very good at keeping things chilled. However, please note NOT to leave it plugged into the vehicle on long trips as it drains the battery of the vehicle. I normally leave it chilling until I pick up clients and re plug in a couple of times through the day when the temp gauge drops. I will also in the vehicle have two picnic baskets, plates, cutlery and various items to make it easy to serve and dispense food including hygiene gloves, hand rub etc.

Monty, please also purchase something for your own dinner after leaving clients to their farm accommodation, You are seven minutes drive away from them but I think this might be the only place for you to purchase maybe a nice piece of steak, salad and the kind of things you would like for dinner.

Monty the property I have arranged for you is as follows https://www.airbnb.co.nz/rooms/31284739 and is a really nice little rural suite with adjoining bathroom with great views and wi fi yay. Also the hosts are lovely and are making thier kitchen available if you wish to cook off a lovely piece of steak.  However there are also some really wonderful eateries in town. I have asked them if we can call in to say hi on Saturday 2nd November for a recce. Stand by for further info.

9.30 AM – Stop 2: Departing Clevedon and travel along the coast towards Kaiaua. The Pink Shop, 999 E Coast Rd, Kaiaua 2473

10.15 AM – Stop at The Pink Shop and purchase an ice cream for guests and yourself to eat while overlooking the coast. (THE BLACK DORIS PLUM OR THE FEIJOA FLAVOUR IS REALLY A GREAT EXAMPLE OF NZ FRESH FLAVOURS)

10.30 AM – Stop 3: Depart and travel to Over The Moon Deli.  Over The Moon, 33 Tirau St, Putaruru 3411 ( 1 hour 40 minutes drive)

12.10PM – Arrive at Over the Moon Deli in Putaruru for a tasting.

Tasting doesn’t need to be booked, just simply arrive, alert yourself to Leanne and you are set.

• Purchase – After the tasting purchase 2 x  guests favorite cheese to have in a picnic the next day.

Need to depart from over the moon at 12.30 to get to Hobbiton for 12.55pm latest for a 1.10pm tour.

12.25 PM – Depart Over The Moon for Hobbiton ( 30 minutes drive)

Stop 4: Hobbiton Movie Set, 501 Buckland Rd, Matamata 3472

12.50 PM – Arrive at Hobbiton and park at The Shire Rest area in a safe place for the car. Escort the guests to the ticketing office to check them in for their 1.10pm tour. Explain where you will meet them after their tour, make sure they have everything they need and then relax.

This is where you Monty can have either gathered some foods for yourself or eat at the cafe onsite and  make a picnic and eat on the laws at hobbiton or you can  accompany the guest around on tour. See how you feel and then we can amend the booking with Hobbiton. Monty you may also appreciate time away from guests to re gather  thoughts and re-energise.

3.00 PM – Greet guests from the Hobbiton branded coaches at The Shires Rest. Offer them to use the facilities, go into the gift shop and ask if they would like any refreshments.

• Departing Hobbiton for their overnight farm stay accommodation.
• 40 minute drive from Hobbiton to Woodstock Road

Stop 5: 156 Woodstock Rd, Rotoorangi 3879

4.00 PM – Arrive at Farmstead. Introduce guests to Doug and Penny Storey, owners.

Once guests are settled in, make arrangements re collecting them tomorrow at 9.00AM for their trip to Taupo.

4.30PM – Depart Farmstead and travel to your overnight accommodation at 197 Lawbrooke Lane Te Awamutu

(SABRINA I THINK WE NEED TO MAKE MONTY AWARE THAT WHEN HE FOOD GATHERS HE ALSO NEEDS TO LOOK AT GATHERING FOR HIMSELF IN OUR BUDGET AS I CAN’T ASK HIM TO PARK HIMSELF UP FOR THE NIGHT AND NOT HAVE SOMETHING DECENT LIKE A PIECE OF STEAK AND A GOOD SALAD AND FRESH BREAD FOR DINNER. CAN YOU CHECK THAT THE ACCOMMODATION HAS A KITCHEN FOR COOKING OR WHAT.)

8.00 AM – Travel to Volare bakers in Te Awamutu to purchase the below items: Great place Monty for your breakfast with cool coffee and items for brekkie.

• 2 x packs of artisan sandwiches for the picnic hamper
• 2 x sweet treats for the picnic hamper.

Add these items with the kiwi fruit, tomatoes, basil and cheese purchased the day before for the guests picnic late lunch. Picnic basket in vehicle for your use along with two in vehicle refrigerators.

Alternatively, Monty your accommodation provides a very good range for breakfast so you may even want to pick the guests up

ALSO buy an additional loaf of bread for use that evening after kayaking with hot soup.

Volare – 299 Alexandra St, Te Awamutu 3800

Opening Hours are: 8AM – 3PM

SABRINA : Can they have a sandwich from Volare for lunch with a bottle of water and a sweet treat. Late they can enjoy fresh tomatoes, kiwi fruit, cheese purchased from Over the Moon deli and a bread ripped apart with good butter and I was thinking I would put in a bottle of wine like a Rose. Once Monty approves all of this I can add in a menu and cost button at the bottom to keep Monty on track for spending and can you clarify the budget we set up in gmail so i can recommend what products to purchase. 

8.40 AM – Arrive at Farmstead to collect guests. Knock on their accommodation door and assist with any bags they may have for the day.

9.00 AM – Departure for Huka Falls. after Volare possibly  ( 1 hour 40 mins drive to Taupo)

Stop 1: Huka Falls Walkway, Tauhara, Taupo 3378

Scenic walkway along the Waikato River that leads to viewing balconies overlooking Huka Falls.

10.40 AM – Arrival at Huka Falls and guide guests stopping along route to take photos and enjoy the scenery. 1 hour walk.

Please note: This point is the START of a walkway up to Huka Falls – there is a car park right up by the falls, if you prefer. However,  recommend the walk. It’s easy going, with some fantastic views across the river. Also takes you passed the hot pools. It takes approximately an hour.

11.45AM – Depart Huka Falls for Craters of the Moon, Taupo.  ( 13 minutes drive)

Stop 2: Craters of the Moon, 171 Karapiti Rd, Taupo 3377 $8 per person

Geothermal area featuring boardwalks & gravel paths past steam vents & bubbling craters.

1.00 PM –  Maybe it would be a good idea to have lunch in the Geothermal walking area as the have toilets, tables and it is a very scenic area.

Or instead the Okoriore Hotel is a fabulous place to rest for a picnic they have a summer house that they could enjoy in the grounds before going for a dip but realistically I think the Volare sarnie at Geo Thermal site and later picnic possibly at Okoriore Hotel see more below.

2.00PM – Depart for Okoriore Hotel ( 1 hour 30 mins drive from Craters of the Moon)

Stop 3: Okoroire Hot Springs Hotel, 18 Somerville Rd, Okoroire 3485

3.30 PM – Arrive at Okoroire Hotel. Escort guests into the hotel and manage their access to the Hot Pools and where they can change / gain towels etc. There is a gorgeous walkway down to the hot pools and you gain access with a key from the main reception at the hotel. A steep set of stairs at the end of the tree lined walkway make for a changing room there for a hot and natural thermal dip in the old Victorian original pools.

Guests to enjoy a picnic in the summer house grounds at the Hotel before departing for their Kayaking experience.

Suggest the later picnic instead as the food is not that great at the hotel but they may want to buy themselves a drink inside what is a historic old little hotel not included from us though.

5.30PM – Depart for Lake District Adventures ( 17 minutes drive)

Stop 4: Lake District Adventures, 396 Horahora Rd, Piarere 3484 Steve Owner 027 728 7448

6.00PM – Arrive at Lake District Adventures and introduce guests to your kayaking host Steve.

Steve will get everyone dressed in warm / waterproof clothing and then complete a safety briefing.

Please note: You are traveling with them on this experience and will share a kayak with Tracy’s mum Marlene.

8.00PM – Return and travel back to the Farmstead

Stop 5:  156 Woodstock Rd, Rotoorangi 3879

Upon arrival back to the farmstead, hot soup will be waiting with some fresh bread you purchased from Volare that morning from that day.

Sabrina when you talk to Penny about soup can you ask her if Monty can have some syphoned off for him to take in a plastic container which he can return the next day or even some eggs from the farm. It would make a huge difference to Monty to have something simple and good for his return which would be a 7 minute journey between the two places.

8.00 AM – Collect guests from their accommodation and depart for Auckland and Kariotahi Beach.

( 2 hours drive to Kariotahi beach)

10.00AM – Arrive at Kariotahi Beach and complete a beach drive in vehicle.

Stop 2: Kariotahi Beach, Karioitahi Rd, Lake Puketi 2683

Get a coffee for the guest after the beach drive before heading to the airport.

11.00AM – Depart for Auckland International Airport ( 50 minutes drive)

Stop 3:  Auckland International Airport

12.00 PM – Arrival at Auckland International Airport, park and helps guests with their luggage to their check in desk.  Bid farewell.

Please note: Guests flight is at 3.00PM – Hence need to be at the airport 3 hours before.

1.00PM – Return car to Sharon at Waitakere, Sharon’s suggestion Monty is that she brings the Range Rover to you either very early Sunday morning or later Saturday evening the night before ready to leave packed. She can take your own car and park it on her driveway which is secure at Waitakere.  Sharon has other cars she uses so your own would remain parked until you return from airport and you can then cut across to Kumeu and across to the harbour bridge to go home.
