02.15pm – Don’t forget your bathing costumes and be mindful with your wine consumption before making your way safely to one of our beloved Auckland arrival destinations, Piha Beach and to your private property nestled amongst native bush with views of the stunning Tasman Ocean. This modern home in our portfolio provides a comfortable, authentic experience within a distinct relaxing environment and atmosphere that will evoke treasured travel memories as a first visit to Auckland. With a indoor outdoor flow there is enough space for relax in ALL weathers, unwind and sink into the onsite hot tub – perfect under the stars on a chilly winter evening as you soak away with a glass of champagne hidden under the canopy of native bush.
May we suggest you take a short drive down to the beach either before a soak in the tub or afterwards – you decide. But with such stunning scenery, a scarf and a jacket wrap up against Te Uru (wind of the west) and take a wild walk along the beach as the ocean roars and foams.
6.30pm – Your private chef James will arrive to greet you and to prepare a delicious five course evening meal as you while away the early evening with a little music and a selection of wines matched to your cuisine from a good Pinot Gris, A Sauvignon Blanc and a Crackling Rose to kick off the culinary event.
Learn before your dining experience begins with James the art of the Crème brûlée, also known as burnt cream or Trinity cream. A dessert consisting of a rich custard base topped with a texturally contrasting layer of hardened caramelized sugar. It is normally served piping hot; the heat from the caramelizing process tends to warm the custard producing a hot centre.
The evening once dinner is completed is yours to relax….enjoy a movie together and rest or read or listen to music or simply throw open the glass doors and listen to the sounds of the ocean as the wood burner keeps you cosy!
Awaken to peace and quiet after a good night’s rest. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast from our selection of home made bread, conserves, salmon and croissants freshly baked with good coffee, tea and juice.
11.00am – Depart your peaceful haven and take a peek at some stunning scenic spots we recommend on the journey home. May we suggest you park at The Mercer Bay Loop and take the right hand side track and walk at least down the the Maori statue. The track makes its way along the top of the highest sea cliffs in the Auckland region and provides great views north towards Muriwai and south to Whatipu.
Cautionary Note – If you are walking the whole loop the climb back to the car park is constant and can be slippery if wet. This track has a number of natural features that may pose increased risk to visitors. Please stay away from cliff edges and keep to the track at all times.
